Raspberry Pi 5 Outperforms J4125

#Single Board Computers

Raspberry Pi 5 outperforms J4125 in benchmarks. According to the tests it's roughly 20% faster.

That's quite curious.

In my homelab (see: My Portable Homelab Overview) I'm running Proxmox with ZFS and a bunch things on my J4125 8GB RAM and haven't faced any noticeable performance problems.

Raspberry is usually marketed as a low power SBC for simple tasks. At the same time ZimaBlade is sold as a dream homelab SBC for NAS or whatever. In fact, ZimeBlade is using even less powerful N3350/N3450/J3455/E3950 CPUs.

It all makes the SBCs' marketing point ridiculous. Raspberry Pi 5 is more than capable of handling basic homelab needs and there is probably no need in a beast unless you really need it.
