Note as an Interface

#Note taking

The idea is to put a note between you and ... anything else: ideas, thoughts, things to be done and tasks, consumed content or the content yet to be consumed, and so on. A kind of uber-deliberate way of doing things by going "note-first" in every way.

Wrapping your head around a task? Jot down a few lines, break it into intermediate steps, and think it through. Come across a YouTube video? Create a note and write a few words about it with key takeaways.

It's very similar to interstitial journaling but expanded out of the boundaries of a day log up to a scale of a whole note-taking system.

Why? Because distractions are everywhere. Writing things down will take over the control to bring it on solid deliberate thinking ground rather than reactive impulses.

So it can be used as a part of daily journaling workflow not only as an exoskeleton for the thinking process but also as a barrier for distractions and a pin for regaining focus.
