Dopamine is a neurotransmitter produced by our brain and adrenal glands causing a somewhat mix of satisfaction feeling and happiness.
During the evolution we obtained dopamine to encourage activities that are useful for our survival. It acts as a universal reward that's why it's usually referred to as a reward brain chemical.
It's often confused to be an achievement reward which is a likely a mistake: Dopamine is not a reward for your achievements
